DGS and DEOS add new on-line groundwater level station

DGS and DEOS are pleased to announce that near real-time groundwater level data from well Oh25-09 have recently been made available on the DEOS web site through the Harbeson, DE-REC station found on the Current Conditions link (http://www.deos.udel.edu/data/current_retrieval.php). Three wells in the DGS Groundwater Monitoring Network now provide near realtime data. The others are Pe54-51 at Jones Crossroads, DE-SSWMC and Kb32-75 at Sandtown, DE-CSWMC, which are operated in cooperation with the Delaware Solid Waste Authority.

DEOS displays of groundwater levels are updated hourly. These near real-time data can be useful for predicting and responding to flooding conditions such as occurred at this site in September 2016 (see http://www.dgs.udel.edu/news/groundwater-response-extreme-rainfall-even…).

A link to the DEOS Current Conditions page will be added to the DGS Water Resources page in the near future, making it very convenient for our stakeholders to quickly find the data. Processed and aggregated data are added to the DGS Water Resources Page at http://www.dgs.udel.edu/sites/default/files/data/recent-and-historical-… every few months.
